Stargazers Picnic

The picnic will be at Don Surles house. From 1PM to 4PM or whenever. If you want to bring something to eat or drink that's OK. Stargazers provide basic foot and soda's. Please bring a folding chair. There is usually a solar scope or two available (weather permitting).

Photograph the Antares Launch against the Sun

There is a unique opportunity for this launch due to its early morning timeline.  within certain locations along the Eastern Shore the vehicle will appear to transit in front of the sun - potentially making for great photo opportunities. Some of your members probably have the right equipment (solar scope, telescope with filters, etc) to be able to capture this photograph. I wanted to pass this information along to see if anyone might be interested in trying for this once-in-a-(decade?)…

Holiday Party

We supply meat and drinks you can bring a covered dish or desert but not required.  All  are welcome, membership not required,  Come anytime after 6 pm to help us set-up for the Holiday  Party! After the dinner, we will have 2 or 3 short videos that should make us laugh! In addition, we have a box for can goods donations and take the donated food to a local food pantry.

This is an astronomy night for the Pittsville Library in Maryland Pittsville is located off route 50 a few miles east of Salisbury, Md. The library is part of the Wicomico library system.
