Our summer picnic will be on July 14 starting at 12 pm at Don and Karen Surles home in Smyrna, DE. The Delmarva Star Gazers will supply the hamburgers and hot dogs, rolls, corn on the cob, and watermelon. We may even have fried fish and hush puppies. This is an astronomy night for the Pittsville Library in Maryland Pittsville is located off route 50 a few miles east of Salisbury, Md. The library is part of the Wicomico library system. The Delmarva Stargazers have visited the library many times over the years. Centerville Cub Pack 129 outreach at Camp Pecometh on Oct. 13

Centreville Cub Scout Pack 129 has requested the Stargazers to come to Camp Pecometh ( west of Dover-32.5 miles) on October 13, if weather permits. Bryon Johnston (Cubmaster) expects at least 50 Cubscouts and parents-- so some telescopes are needed! He has invited us for dinner at 6 pm.  We start observing  at 7:30 pm. Comet 46P/Wirtanen will pass within 12 million kilometers (7.4 million miles) of Earth on December 16, 2018. Fortunately a Full Moon will distinctly dim your prospects of seeing that night as well as nights on either side  even though the comet is expect to brighten to 3rd magnitude. A finder char is found at Sky & Telescope's web site from December 1st through January 3rd. On December 15th it will be found half way between the Hyades and the Pleiades.…
