Observing Notes

from the Tuckahoe Irregulars

Saturn and the Moon, Dec 1 2001...Doug Norton
I made it out to Tuckahoe at 5:30 and was a little discouraged by the weather at the time. It was cloudy and drizzled on me a bit. But I braved it and the wind and managed to get some spectacular views and photographs of the event. I just got my negatives back today and will be scanning them today. I hope to have some sort of presentation at the meeting on Tuesday. I also managed to get some really outrageous shots of Jupiter, Saturn, the moon and a few double stars with my Sony Mavica digital Camera. I figured out how to get the best image using eyepiece projection photography. I will have those to show as well. Not Hubble, but not bad either. Well I will have a full report later tonight as I get these images scanned. Wish you guys would have been brave and come out to the field…
