Observing Notes

from the Tuckahoe Irregulars

Tuckahoe June 24, 2003... Doug Norton
It was a great night even though I am hurting right now at work. I also found out I have to work until 8pm as well! What luck I have. Anyway, both nights were excellent with great company. I look forward to seeing you all in the field the next time the weather permits.

I managed to get my star hopping skills back even though I am still a little rusty. I had to look at my charts and I try not to do that if I can help it. My favorite objects of the night were the open and globular clusters in the thick clouds of the Milky Way. I also enjoyed looking through the light buckets at the great globulars M3, M5 and M13. Wow! And Tim’s new binoculars were incredible. I think I’m going to have to save up and get me a pair of those things! Great night. Great company. See you out in the field again…
