Observing Notes

from the Tuckahoe Irregulars

East Coast Star Party March 21, 2004... Michael Stephano
Well I will say we had a great time. The sky was really clear and dark. I got to speak with a lot of folks and check out some great scopes. Saturday we all went out for a late breakfast and split up until evening. There was skepticism about the weather forecast for Saturday night. As it ended up it was nice and clear up until the point I left. I will guess it lasted until at least 11:00. Represented there were the Norfolk and the Back Bay clubs. Also some Richmond and of course me from Delmarva Stargazers. There were some great door prizes last night and there was also a booth set up by Jeff Norwood of Camera Concepts. I had an opportunity to speak with Jeff at length and also to play around a bit with some bino viewers. There was also a Jmi (?) Binocular/Dob set up there from Tidewater Community College. That is an interesting piece of equipment. There were students on hand both nights. I packed up and was on the road by 9:00. It was a terrific weekend. I am looking forward to our own gathering next month. I have uploaded a couple pictures in the M_Stephano folder.
