Dover Library – STEM Makerfest
June 15, 2019 @ 10:00 - 14:00
Contents
My name is Jaclyn and I am a librarian at the Dover Public Library.
On Saturday, June 15th, 2019 the Library will be hosting its annual STEM Makerfest from 10am to 2pm.
The goal of the Makerfest is to bring innovative programming related to science, technology, engineering, and math to the community and to get them excited about the creative opportunities available in these fields of study.
Participants are invited to bring technology, experiments, and other interactive materials to showcase their designs, inventions, and examples of work. This is an opportunity for STEM Makers to showoff what they do! Each participant will be given a 10’ x 10’ space, tables, and chairs. Most booths will have access to electricity. The event is open to all ages and will coincide with the kickoff of the Library’s Summer Reading Program.
The Library will not have designated quiet areas this day, so participants should feel free to bring resources that make noise. Programs should be fun, educational, and engaging; the more interactive it is, the better!
This year’s Summer Reading Program theme is space, so I thought the Delmarva Stargazers might be interested in participating.
